HaTekufah
HaGedolah (The Great Era), by R. Menachem Mendel Kasher,
one of the
great Gedolei HaDor just a generation ago, explores the
reemergence of the
modern state of Israel and it's progression from a Torah
perspective. Most
crucial to this two volume set is the inclusion of the
sefer Kol HaTor.
Kol HaTor is the most esoteric exposition of the concept
of Moshiach in all
of Torah thought. Sefer Kol HaTor, written by Rabbi
Hillel M'Shklov brings
down the kabbalistic insights of the school of thought
of the GR"A, the Vilna
Gaon, in the form of a manual. It systematically shows
how the process of
Geulah (redemption) progresses from the natural
settlement of the land and
exposition of Torah, leading to the removal of the Sitra
Achra (forces of
negativity). This is accomplished through the agency of
Moshiach Ben Yosef,
kabbalisticly, the power of "Yesod," which exerts itself
on the physical
realm. Of the many books that are available on the
concept of the Messianic
Era, only Kol HaTor clearly reveals the actual
kabbalistic workings of the
process. We present this book with the highest
recommendation for those who
have a requisite background in Talmudic and Kabbalaistic
thought.
HaTekufah HaGedolah includes expositions by Rabbi Chaim
ben Atar (Ohr
HaChaim), the Baal Shem Tov & Rabbi Moshe Sofer (Chatam
Sofer).
